Click here to see the iBOLT Streamer XL kit video showing how MHL technology works. MHL is a high definition video and audio interface standard for connecting mobile devices to HD TVs. It supports up to 1080p resolution transfers, HD video, 60 fps and digital audio output through Dolby 7.1 support. Naturally the quality seen on the TV screen is identical to the original content streamed. Many internet videos, YouTube videos etc. have much lower resolution then the max 1080p supported by MHL. The technology was established by the MHL™ Consortium and is today supported by multiple handset vendors, HTC and Samsung in particular. Apple is not supporting MHL. When using an iBOLT MHL adapter (and probably all others) a 1 Amp microUSB wall charger must be plugged in to the adapter for the kit to work unless the HDMI cable is connected to an MHL compatible HD TV. |
